This is a quick alteration you can do on any dress or skirt to add 4 extra inches on the hip area. This alteration works best if you are not adding any more than 4-5 inches total to the hip. If you need to add more than that, it doesn’t work as well because you really can’t spread the seam allowances any further without causing wrinkles in the pattern.
